Tahiti – getting there
Getting to the Islands of Tahiti is easy! Air Tahiti Nui’s codeshare partner airline, Qantas, operates flights from Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne to Auckland. In addition, air Tahiti Nui operates a non-stop service between Auckland and Papeete, Tahiti, two times per week. Flight connections to other islands across French Polynesia are driven by the interisland domestic airline, Air Tahiti.

Air Tahiti Nui (TN) offers three different cabin classes to choose from according to your preferences. These cabin classes include:
Poerava Business
The award-winning Poerava Business cabin is designed to optimize space and features a total of 30 seats. In addition, each seat is equipped with a luxurious cushion and cover comfort system for restful travel.
Moana Premium Economy
The more private Premium Economy cabin offers 32 seats that deliver a more comfortable economy flying experience with extra legroom and relaxation space.
Moana Economy
The Moana Economy cabin features a total of 232 seats designed for long haul travel. In addition, the Z300’s articulating seat makes it one of the best next-generation long-range economy class seats.
Food and Beverages
Air Tahiti Nui believes that your holiday is a journey that begins when you board the aircraft. The in-flight menu provided is an integral part of setting the stage. Their chefs have considered every detail and developed dishes that will complement the rich sensory experience that awaits. Combined with the wine list, these tastes are meant to reinforce the vividness of your travel.
Baggage
Air Tahiti Nui offers different baggage options that include:
Carry-on Baggage
You can carry one piece of carry-on luggage plus one personal item. Personal items include a small handbag, camera case, infant bag, or laptop bag. The maximum weight of the carry-on bag is 12kg for Poerava Business and 10kg for Moana Economy and Moana Premium Economy. Carry-on bags must be within the total linear dimensions of 115cm. Nb. Codeshare flights operated by airlines other than Air Tahiti Nui may have different carry-on baggage policies.
Checked Baggage
Poerava Business guests are allowed two free bags, each with a total weight of 32kg (70lbs). Moana Premium Economy guests are allowed two free bags, each with a total weight of 23kg (50lbs). In addition, Moana Economy guests are permitted one* checked bag for free with a maximum weight of 23kg (50lbs). The linear size limitations for checked bags are 158cm (62in). Any item weighing more than 32kg (70lbs) will not be accepted. These items must be shipped as freight.
Sports Baggage
In addition to the standard baggage allowance, passengers travelling on an Air Tahiti Nui ticket and flying on an Air Tahiti Nui operated aircraft may check-in free of charge one (1) piece of sporting equipment weighing a maximum of 23kg from the list below. Note: This allowance is not available for codeshare flights.
- Golf equipment, or
- Diving equipment, or
- Surfboard, body board, kneeboard, longboard, kitesurf, paddle, or inflatable canoe/kayak no longer than 250cm, or
- Paddle/fishing rod in a container that does not exceed 5kg / 250cm length, or
- Ski equipment (water or snow) that does not exceed 250cm length, or
- Archery bow and arrow
Web check-in
Web check-in is possible on all Air Tahiti Nui flights except Tokyo. The web check-in facility is available between 36 to 5 hours before flight departure.
Lounges
Air Tahiti Nui provides a comfortable lounge in Papeete at Faa’a International Airport. In addition, partner airlines offer shared lounges in Auckland, Los Angeles, Tokyo, and Paris. Poerava Business guests and elite frequent flyer members will be given an invitation for entry upon check-in before departure.
Frequent Flyer
Join the Club Tiare frequent flyer program. The more you travel on Air Tahiti Nui and its codeshare airline partners, the more benefits you receive. The three membership status levels determine the honors and awards offered to participants in the program. The entry-level Club Tiare, Tahia, starts members off with a 3,000 miles’ points’ bonus upon their first activity and allows flyers to earn miles for travel with Air Tahiti Nui. Members will also receive exclusive access to promotional offers.
Club Tiare members will achieve elite Silver status upon accumulating 30,000 miles on Air Tahiti Nui during a calendar year. Silver members will also receive a 50% miles’ bonus and one additional item of checked luggage on Air Tahiti Nui services, priority baggage delivery, access to the Business Class check-in line and no-fee date changes made to valid award flights and itineraries.
The third and highest status level is Gold. This level is reached upon achieving 60,000 Air Tahiti Nui miles. Gold members receive a 75% miles bonus for sectors flown as well as Business Class check-in, free lounge access, one free guest lounge access, free date changes to valid award flights and itineraries, one free date change to a purchased ticket, an additional piece of checked luggage and priority delivery and choice of seats.
